Quick redlining trip to fill in a couple of gaps. Main reason for this post is to warn of the MASSIVE MUD PIT on the Pemi trail between Cascade Brook Trail and Basin-Cascades Trail. It's a little south of the crossing of the brook. Doesn't look like much, and there appear to be stepping stones in the trail bed, but I took a step and went two feet up to my knees in very wet watery mud. My big lab was basically swimming for a few feet as he couldn't touch bottom. If you are staying on trail and not walking around, this is unavoidable. Nice little surprise first thing in the morning. |
