Water Crossing Notes: Carrigain Brook easily crossed on rocks
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail in good condition. One tree across trail about four feet above surface just uphill from the second re-route section (approx 1.5' diameter evergreen). Not hard to pass beneath. A tree fall in the lower switch back path above the dry brook bed crossings can be walked around.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Trail good for dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: Mosquitoes were particularly numerous in the lower wet sections of the trail. A nice breeze on the observation deck kept the bugs away.

Comments
Comments: Perfect day for Mt Carrigain. The 360 degree view from the observation platform is spectacular (perhaps the best in the Whites vying with the view from the Bonds). The long side hill inclined traverse is quite rocky but the footing is not bad. I met about a dozen hikers on this great day for hiking Mt Carrigain.
