Water crossings were not an issue. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Five recent blowdowns on the trail, all on the Mt. Kinsman Trail east of the spur trail for Bald Peak -- four could be done with a handsaw; the fifth might require a chainsaw. Also, recent heavy rain (Sunday night?) appears to have caused some significant erosion on a few steep sections of the Mt. Kinsman Trail east of the spur trail for Bald Peak. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Plenty of water at multiple stream crossings. |
|
| Bugs: |
Not an issue; cold temps and breezes kept them away. |

| Comments: |
Rain from Sunday night and early Monday morning turned much of the Mt. Kinsman Trail into a wet, slippery, muddy mess. By midday, though, lower sections of the trail had begun to dry out significantly. Trace patches of snow and ice exist at higher elevations of Mt. Kinsman Trail, and in one or two sections of Kinsman Ridge Trail -- all can be stepped around, however. |
