Standard summer approach: Due to a private home on the north side of the summit, access is from the east. From Rt. 110A in Dummer, drove north on Cedar Stream Road (shared ATV) for 0.8 mi. Left onto unnamed road (narrower). Drove 0.9 mile, a tenth or two past the sharp bend, parking at a grassy overgrown logging road. (room for 2 cars to pull off road) |

We knew this would be short and steep. Satellite imagery suggested there was an old overgrown logging road, when there was. We followed this west and uphill for a couple of tenths. Woods were easy, and the old road gave us nice footing and made navigation easy. When the road petered out we BW'd uphill towards the summit. We picked up another overgrown scar which we followed for a short bit. Going was steep throughout, but the woods were pretty easy and there were not cliff bands. Popped out on the summit into an open clearing with a deer hunting blind. A bump or mound in the middle of the clearing appeared to be the obvious highpoint.
And another successful hike and fun day with friend, JEM3. |
