I left my dog home as she doesn't like the heat and there's no water anywhere I would let her drink out there. |

Walking on Old Stage Road from parking lot at end of Alton Mountain Road was awful. I was absolutely swarmed by unrelenting Deer Flies. I had planned to go to Camp Bell and head to the pond but they drove me into the woods. By the time I reach the viewpoint below Anna (on blue trail) they had left for greener pastures. Rest of hike was fine, a few bugs but nothing unusual. |

Old State Road to Blue Trail, Red Trail towards Mack then followed the bushwhack to Old Clough Road, White Trail, to South Peak, Blue trail back to Old Stage road and parking. |
