Parked on Cherry Mountain road, beyond campsite #4, just past the pond, in a pull out big enough for a couple cars and possibly more. Sign in pullout says 'No overnite camping'. |

Pulled a ton of old brush & rotting logs off the trail. Flagged a very small section where the trail is easy to lose on the return trip. |

Recommend reviewing prior posts, as detail was helpful.
Can't see the old abandoned trail from the road, it's right in between campsite #3 and #4. Just look at the steep banks and find the col in between them, and go into the col, and you'll see the corridor.
I've made some effort to restore the trail, will return to work on it some more. I won't open up the beginning of the trail, you'll still need to know where it is, and then see it. But it should make a cool winter trail.
Bob Garrison, if you're reading this, I haven't forgotten, the Gorilla and Thunderbird trails are on my list as well. And if they don't like it, they can put my name on a stick right beside yours. |
