Too hot, dry and long for my girl. Didn't see any other dogs. |

Mosquitoes don't make great walking companions. The world of moths take over at night! Deerflies and black flies were present in small pockets. |

| Comments: |
44 mile, 2 day AT blitz. Spotted over 328 chipmunks, several toads, squirrels, an owl, deer, a bear, and an out of place groundhog. Also saw several thru hikers heading NOBO. All shelters and tent sites are closed yet are still being used. USFS postings are not present from Smarts to Hanover. Camped off trail using LNT skills and ethics. Water is reliable only in deep valley crossings. Did several fill-ups to keep hydrated. All done with the AT in NH! |
