An absolute epic day. Bluebird weather. I got an early start and was able to have the summit to myself for a bit before the auto road opened. The trails are in great shape...a bit wet in a few areas but easily avoidable. There is no need for any traction. There are a few remaining spots of snow but they are not on the trail. A woman was working at the Lake in the Clouds Hut...she mentioned that it will be opening for day hikers in the near future. It will not open this summer for over night guests. |
