Lady Slippers everywhere, saw my first one minutes into the hike. Lovely forest trail. Easy on the feet and gradual grade until the last bit on the KRT up to the ledge. Trees have really grown up since I was there last, but the ledge doesn't dissapoint. The breeze kept the bugs away for a lovely rest with the place all to myself. No one on the trail until almost back to the Fish Hatchery at 3, when I saw a guy with his son heading up. Trail needs more foot traffic, as some areas are growing in. Maybe it will see more, now that this is on the 52 With a View. |
