Trails
Trails: Barlow Trail, Winslow Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Friday, June 12, 2020
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: At 10 am the lot had maybe 5 cars tops. I know there is a reservation system, but no one was at the booth (maybe there is on weekends). I was hiking with my dad who meets the senior discount, but otherwise there’s a $4 fee.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Nothing unusual. Both trails are rough in places but well maintained.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Reminder: PLEASE clean up your dog poop. There was some near the beigijninf of Barlow and it was attracting dozens of giant flies-don’t be that person. Only dog I saw was a happy German Shepard with a leash. The park sight requires you bring them, so keep that in mind.
Bugs
Bugs: Plenty, but not aggressive.

Comments
Comments: Was a great day to do a little hike up Kearsarge. Went up Barlow and down Winslow, which probably isn’t recommended for some since the Winslow trail can be quite a bruiser. Only took an hour up and 40 min down, a personal best for me. Absolutely beautiful views at the top, and very few people. However, we encountered plenty of people while descending Winslow and the lot was fuller by the time we left.
