Crossing at Black Angel was possible on rocks, all crossings on Highwater Trail possible on rocks. Crossing from Highwater trail to road via Shelburne trail I had to wade across. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The main reason I wanted to post this report is to say that the Highwater trail after the junction with the Moriah Brook Trail coming from Black Angel is mostly non-existent due to washouts and blow-downs. I had to bushwack most of the way, just following the river. The section after the junction with Shelburne seemed like it would be the same after hiking in about 1/4 mile, so I turned back and crossed the river there. I would not recomend attempting this trail unless you intend to bushwack. I have found older reports about the issue that this trail is all but non-existent, but nothing is posted about it on site, so take caution. |

 | Comments: |
Most of the hike was dry and easy to follow. Lots of wild flowers on West Royce. Highwater Trail is mostly non-existent and honestly dangerous without any signage of the issues. Cannot recommend hiking it in its current state. |
