Very enjoyable weather. Trails are as dry as one can expect in summer months. Hardly any ice/snow on trails. Trails easy to follow. Ascent up North Hancock is strenuous. Significant trail erosion on the steep portions. Loose rocks galore. Even on less steep portions, tree roots are exposed. Wonder how this can be fixed.
Most hikers following social distancing and quite respectful. Saw a few annoying fast hikers (more like trail runners) - giving a feeling similar to one when someone tailgates while driving. These folks were NOT properly social distancing. Not sure why the woods can't simply be a place to enjoy and relax. Need it be competitive? |
