Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking at Wildcat ski area is open. Only one or two other cars in a lot to fit hundreds so I think you’ll be good ;)
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing of Thompson Brook (or closer to the falls) at 0.6mi could be a bit unnerving for some people. It wasn’t real high yesterday but the angle of the rocks make it awkward. Nothing else of significance.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trail is blazed in yellow. The jcts with Way of the Wildcat are signed well. The only tough the trail could be a bit hard to follow is around the falls and where it crosses the brook/falls at 0.6mi. A bit hard to see where the trail re-enters the woods. Also note that beyond here the trail is less travelled and narrower but not hard to follow. There was very little or no blaze on that side of the falls. There is a small “end of trail” sign at the end. There was a small blowdown with a path around it. I think it was in between the crossing of the maintenance road and Way of the Wildcat.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The trail to shortly before the falls would be fine for any dog but it gets steep and rocky there and some dogs will struggle. I’d also be careful with them at the crossing of the falls. None seen.
Bugs
Bugs: Surprisingly there didn’t to be any out.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None

Comments
Comments: A second short evening redline with a friend :) We did this after hiking Winniweeta Falls Trail. The trail is easy and flat until it nears the falls. Then it’s a steep, bouldery climb to the water crossing which some people may not care to do. The trail then ascends steeply on the other side of the brook as a narrow footpath that is very followable but clearly not as well travelled. There is an “end of trail” sign at the end.

I don’t recall much mud or wet spots. The boulders around the crossing were mostly dry. Only one blowdown and the trail is pretty easy to follow. No one else out there. Nice falls and a restricted view to Lions Head and Washington from the end of the trail.
