Comments
Comments: So as not to disturb the camper at site #7 I whacked S and E around it to get to my bearing. Woods were a little scrappy beyond the site but after that the woods were mostly open all they way, save for a couple of very brief, moderately thick stretches. There's a lot of downed trees at the main summit area of Deception and the register resides on one of them that is resting at a 45* angle (this is my first time here so I don't know how long it's been like that). I dropped down about on the same line then went SW to West Peak - again mostly through open woods but with increasing deadfall - especially at the summit. Looks like it would be a good place to catch some nice views but none could be had here today due to the clouds. I dropped N and took a return line a little S of my ascent line and other than a steep cliff @ ~ 3300' the woods weren't much different. I guess my line was spot on since I came out right at the campsite. Lots of rotting trees and roots with slick moss in this area so treading lightly is wise. Everything was wet from rain last night so the rain gear was on from start to finish.
