Hiker parking lot on Ossipee Park Rd. on the Castle in the Clouds grounds. About 10 cars at 7:50 and lot full (maybe 20ish cars) when leaving at 11:35. |

All crossings manageable by rock hops or bridges. |

One blowdown across the trail on Oak Ridge Cutoff shortly below its intersection with High Ridge Trail, easy step-over. |

A few happy dogs, some leashed, some off leash and well behaved. |

A little annoying mostly the lower half of this hike, but not swarming by any means. The summit breeze kept them away at the top. |

The perfect hike today...lots of solitude from this approach, early start, astounding summit views, gradual ascent. Hiked the route that's described in the Southern NH trail guide 4th edition. I had the summit to myself and only passed a handful of other parties, all on the descent. The guide describes this route as 3.7 miles, 1,850 ft. gain (rev. 50 ft.), 2 hr. 45 min. Trails well maintained, great blazes, and well signed throughout. A great day with excellent hiking weather to be out. |
