Followed a fairly standard route from all other trip reports. From where we parked, we crossed the road and headed up the Cohos Trail across the Trailblazers Bridge. Climbed the road (muddy in spots) to its junction with the West Side Road.
From here we aimed for a point on the ridge just south of the North peak. It was a steep climb through a mix of terrain: pencil/stick woods, rocky areas, and nice woods. We crossed several logging road scars, but they seemed to be contouring and didn't really help gain elevation. Once on the ridge, it was an easy jaunt up to the north peak. We took a similar line down, still steep, but we had slightly better luck picking out a slightly better line though the woods and blowdowns when looking down on it, but we still had some rocky areas, and pencil woods to go through. Back on the road, it was a quick walk back down to the cars.
FYI.. we had hit Stratford Mountain - South Peak, from roads to its west; see prior trip report. We felt that hiking them as two separate hikes would save a 2-mile ridge bushwhack and 2-mile road walk that comes with hiking them as a loop hike. I suspect a case could be made for either approach/plan :-)
Another successful NH500 with JEM3.
