Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossing on Sandwich Mtn. Tr. was bypassed with roadwalk and herd path. Drakes Brook Trail wasn't too difficult, but the water was lower than last week.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Generally in good to excellent shape.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw just one, very well behaved. Shouldn't have any trouble. However, I almost stepped in "something" when I got out of my car. Please keep your dog on a leash while you are in the parking lot.
Bugs
Bugs: Not too bad, even without a breeze. However, I had applied DEET just in case
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Items from last week are gone

Comments
Comments: Great day for a hike. Not much sun, but high clouds allowed views all the way to Washington from SMT viewpoints, and the summit. Monrail is gone, except for 10 or 20 tiny pieces near the summit. I miss winter already! JK; I try to enjoy each day as it comes. But there is nothing like hiking on packed snow on a good trail...

The herd path around the blowdown at 43.935,-71.5113889 is well developed. Will it be the new route of the trail? That would save the axe work for building new bog bridges where needed between Noon Pk. and the spur to Jennings. Just my $0.02
