Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Got to the trailhead on Rt 113 early so there were only 4 other cars in the lot. When we left there were some cars along the side of the road but otherwise no issues.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Whitin Brook crossing was a little tricky, mostly because we were avoiding getting out feet wet. There were a few options for rock hopping but each of them did require a bit of a leap onto wet rocks.

Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: We saw a lot of really well behaved and happy dogs - 5 total. All off leash but under owners voice command control the whole time. Honestly some of the nicest and most well behaved dogs i've ever seen on trail.
Bugs
Bugs: It was cool, mid to low 50s which kept the flies away. No issues.

Comments
Comments: Great hike, went counter clockwise loop and stopped at the Big Cave for some exploration. This hike is challenging. 8.3 miles total with an elevation gain of 2900 feet. The water crossing was a little tricky but easily doable with some patience. Really nice views out to Chocorua, Whiteface/Passaconway and the Ossipees.
