Flies were at the summit in swarms, but were tolerable. In the past, I remember there being bees at the summit and I was pleased not to see any bees today. |

Very nice hike--trail is in good condition. It was so hot that I was wishing I had taken Champney Falls hahaha, but glad I got to enjoy the day! Snowshoes were along for the ride. There was two sections of melting monorail maybe 30 to 40 feet long and easily traversed. I was able to step around or bareboot over the snow sections. Not too many people on the trail. Started at 8 a.m. and was one of 4 cars; didn't see anyone on the trail until on the way down. Lot was almost full by 1 p.m. I would probably avoid this hike on the weekends as it is popular and would be more difficult to social distance during the weekends. |
