Well we set out for moosilauke snd went out earlier to try to have the warm weather not hurt us on the snow. I have never done these trails and figured why not, not thinking of other factors. I did not think no as many people on this trail in the winter would give it an issue but i was wrong. The very small monorail meant no stable monorail and so post holing about 2’ of snow to 3’ with this fun about 4†of running water underneath. If there was no running water under the snow then maybe it would have been doable but oh well. We did the loop and only made it up to 3350’ on asquam ridge trail before heading down. I will be back to see Jim and the rest of the trail which i hear is still wet in all seasons. |
