Comments: Driving: from Rt. 3 Stratford > R onto Spur Rd > 0.6 mi. R onto Sugarloaf Rd > 1.3 mi. R onto Christie Rd > 1.4 mi. Straight onto Pelham > 0.5 mi. > L onto dirt ATV road; the road gets a touch scratchy from here... but it was easily and safely driveable, and it had been recently been cut along the sides) > 1.0 mi., grassy logging road on Right, park here.

We were not 1.0 as the crow flies, west of the peak.

We walked down the grassy logging road about 0.4 mi. until it got a bit muddy. We then headed into the woods aiming for the peak. Woods were a bit tight at first, but soon opened up to some lovely and open woods that made for easy climbing. The terrain got a bit steep as we neared the ridge, but woods remained great. We aimed a bit south of the peak towards a slight col. The ridge walk up the last few tenths to the peak were lovely.. nice fern & birch. Found the jar and yellow X. Returned to car in similar fashion.

Great route to the south peak. Thanks to dritter for the tip about being able to drive in to get this peak from the west side as opposed to the Nash Stream side.

Another successful whack and fun outing with JEM3!
