Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We parked on the west corner of Stratford Bog Pond, at the driveable end, at a bumpout. The last few tenths were rough, and cars with low clearance might wish to park at the south end of the pond near the dam outlet. Roads were in great shape all the way up to the pond.

Comments: Driving: plug it into Google maps and you'll get there just fine: Rt. 3 Stratford > R onto Spur Rd > 0.6 mi. R onto Sugarloaf Rd (one of my maps called this Bog Rd, which was confusing at home, but made sense when driving it) > 3.1 mi. L onto Bordeau Rd > 4.0 mi. L onto Hartshorn > 5.4 mi. L back onto Sugarloaf Rd (which had disappeared briefly as an ATV road) > 5.9 mi. arrive at the S end of the pond > 6.3 mi. if you've got clearance.

Continued hiking on logging road, which was likely also an old snomo route at one point. Some regrowth, but mostly open and not bad. (You can see this road on the maps and satellite imagery.) The logging road climbs NW'ly, then curls north, coming up along the west side of both peaks.

Near the HOL for the southern peak, we headed up to the summit, only 0.25 mile away. We swung a touch to north as a direct line looked too steep/cliffy. Steep, but good footing. It got a touch scrappy near the top, but not bad. Found the jar.

BW'd fairly directly to the northern peak. Steep coming off the top, but we found a nice line by nudging a touch to the north, or left. Mixed woods.. tight in places, but overall not too bad. Dropped to col and climbed up to north peak. We found the top flat contour to be a bit scrappy with some blowdowns. We had to poke around for a few minutes, finding the jar and yellow X on the east side of the flat top. There was a sheltered view of Sugarloaf (Nash Stream).

We dropped off to the west and regained the logging road. A short climb brought us back to the HOL and an easy hike back down to the car.

Another successful and fun hike with JEM3.
