| Comments: |
Trails were generally dry with a few patches of mud that could be avoided. Trapper John lean-to is closed due to COVID.
Descended the Dartmouth Skiway ski trails, which still have low grass. There is a well worn footpath down the Papoose trail, which is fairly gradual.
A few sets of hikers out, but never crowded.
Decent variety of wildflowers, more plentiful higher up. Saw a large patch of lady slipper. Plenty of trillium and trout lily as well. Lots of bellwort on the ski trails, and perhaps the beginning of lupine (not in bloom).
Despite the mostly sunny forecast, it was mostly cloudy. Holts Ledge was in the clear, but Smarts and Cardigan were in the clouds. |
