Comments
Comments: Microspikes up Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail. Monorail started before the pool. Took off the microspikes at Lakes in the Clouds and bare-booted the rest of the hike. Above treeline there are still patches of snow, but not enough to need snow shoes. One largish snow field on Tuckerman Crossover was stable in the morning and I was able to walk across without post-holing. Gulfside to Jefferson was mostly snow free. The Caps on the Caps Ridge Trail are clear of snow and ice. Some minor snow below tree line. Big difference between the amount of snow remaining on Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail (a lot) versus the Caps Ridge Trail (a little). The Borderline Trail was very pleasant, except for the crossing of Clay Brook.
