| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw tons of them, and they all looked like they were enjoying. |
|
| Bugs: |
Shockingly not too bad. Enough of a breeze at the summit to keep them at bay, and if you kept moving, they really didn't bother you. Towards the end of the day, down low, they were a bit of a pain if you stopped moving. |

Gorgeous day to explore the Falls and the summit of Chocorua. Had a feeling this was going to get busy, so I'm glad we started early.
Monorail makes a first appearance at about 2500', then reappears at 2700' and is off and on until you break treeline. No spikes on the way up, but two of us did put spikes on for the way down mostly for one particular stretch around 2900'. We must have easily passed 50 people heading up while we were heading down. No one had traction, and most folks looked quite surprised when we told them there was still snow higher up.
Hopefully myself and the 3 ladies I was hiking with were the 4 people that "looked like they had ever hiked before" that Monkey saw. Otherwise we might be in deep trouble ;) |
