| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
On Four Mile Brook Road, mile 3.9, left onto spur logging road. We had to cut a couple of small fallen trees (glad I had a saw in the car), but othewise was able to drive this 1.0 mile to it's end. |

| Comments: |
Despite the black flies, we tried to grab some northern peaks before the logging regrowth leafs out.
Only 0.6 as the crow flies, but about 800' of gain. Steep puppy. We headed directly towards the peak, climbing westerly up the east face. On the bushwhack we soon entered a large, deeply rutted, recently logged area. We climbed up through it, aiming just a tad to the right/north of the peak. We encountered hobble which seemed to be aiming downhill as we tried to claw uphill. Terrain was steep and rocky in places, and there was a small brook of sorts coming off the mountain. Within the top tenth mile the slope eased up, but we encountered big patches of spring snow. We found the summit, and descended, every so carefully, the same way.
Fun three days up in Errol with JEM3. |
