Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked on 302....work being done on the road, but even if the main gate is opened at 302, there's a barrier/sign just beyond the Sugarloaf area stating: "ROAD CLOSED" It seems they are working on a road bank erosion area just the other side of this sign. So who knows when the whole road will be open?

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: If you've got long legs/long stride, you could take a BIG step. I opted to go upstream a bit, used bags over the boots, and took 3 steps in a very strong current, but made it both ways unscathed.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few trees down on Twinway, and the usual leaners due to snow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies making their debut...but didn't seem to know what they were supposed to be doing.

Comments
Comments: Somewhat stable monorail right after the water crossing. Dry mostly before that, or very short stretches of avoidable monorail. Spikes up to and a bit beyond the viewpoint. Switched to snow shoes after post holing a few times on the way to the ladder. Snow shoes stayed on until right before the ladder coming back. Spikes again, then back to snow shoes, then to spikes, then back to the water crossing (WHEW!). Snow was getting pretty rotten/unstable.

Of course, all of this will change daily!
