Comments
Comments: Headed down the dirt road towards Daniel Down trailhead. At the first fork, we took a right onto an old woods road. Soon joined another one that came in from the right. The road eventually disappeared so we started bushwhacking towards Mousley. At some point, we discovered another woods road which brought us pretty close to the mountain. As it turned away, we started bushwhacking through clear woods towards the summit. Crossed some orange boundary blazes near the summit. Soon came to some ledges which we followed all the way up to the jar AND there we met up with fellow whackers: Fran, Gordo and Reuben! Chatted awhile then they headed towards Stonehouse as we took time to sign in.

We took a heading and started across and down Mousley. At some point, we realized the mountain was pulling us more towards Moody so had to correct our heading to Stonehouse. Messy woods in this section: lots of blowdowns and leaves covering holes. Eventually started climbing again. Woods much cleaner although still a fair amount of blowdowns but enough herd paths to lead you through and around. Got to a trail as the summit moderated considerably and again ran into our fellow whackers! Trail lead us to the summit complete with nice sign and a new jar. Signed in and took a heading straight at Mason Pond. Steady down to a stream and a grassy road which at some point had blue blazes. We could see the pond below us to our right. Followed the road to a gate which was also bounded with barbed wire. We decided to bushwhack along the fence to a road on the map. Did have to make one stream crossing which was about a foot deep in the middle! (Italian found a place to jump across...) We soon found the road which took us along the property, passing through a junction with a woods road which parallels the opposite side of the pond, and was the way Fran, Gordo and Reuben had descended from the col. We all ended up at the cars, however.
