Slippery Brook Road still closed, so accessed the trail from the Baldface parking lot. Easy, pleasant hike up Baldface Circle and Slippery Brook trails: lovely cascades and wildflowers beginning to bloom. Minor slush on the first half of Eastman Mtn Trail and deeper snow on the second half, made for about 1/2 mile of postholing to reach the peak. Gaiters would be helpful, not really severe/sustained enough to warrant lugging snowshoes along. No snow on the peak: lovely views to South Baldface and other peaks in all driections. |
