Water Crossing Notes

Comments
Comments: Snow starts soon on Ammo after cog spur, becoming a few feet deep quickly. We were fine in light traction all the way up to Lakes - Monroe - Washington. Took spikes off rounding Clay on the way to Jefferson and left them off for the duration of the hike but they definitely could be used below treeline on the Jewell were there is ice mixed in with the packed snow. Snowshoes stayed on the pack but some people may prefer them for the heal lift or when it gets warmer for descent below treeline.

Nice quiet day above treeline. Only bumped into two other hikers and one skier on trail, saw a few skiers from far away. Looks like the were heading to get some runs in the Great Gulf.
