Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossings on ABT were slightly high, taking just a bit of care. Nothing crazy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: ABT was a stream bed just below the lake. Also there are many, many beaten bypasses around wet areas on that trail. Minimal blowdowns along the ridge.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Hearty trail dogs, sure.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies weren't really an issue until later in the day during the descent.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A small sit pad and a fishing lure, which we carried out.

Comments
Comments: This was a fun hike to meet up with a friend who was heading NOBO along the MSG; we met at the fantastic view ledges on Overlook Trail and then hiked down together. Mud top to bottom on ABT with the worst of it being in the flats before the lake. The ridge was wet as well with some slippery ledge; I took one minor tumble. The mostly sunny forecast never came to be, and the ridge remained under overcast skies with a chilly wind.

I started up fairly early (7:20am) and only saw a few people but we passed many during the descent, some of which had no regard for physical distancing. Also along the ridge, two trail runners wouldn't allow us right-of-way on an ascent and pretty much drove us off the trail. Not cool. At Lake Solitude, someone was flying a drone. : /

Those issues aside, it was still a fantastic day in the Mt. Sunapee area.
