Parked at the the gate at the end of Quintown Road. Walked the gravel road through the Thompson Forest. I felt like I was walking through a National Park, so well managed. I followed the gravel Road to a height of land and a clearing with a picnic table. Headed up Black Hill. Nearing the summit I fell into several spruce trap (snow still lingering) found the jar, signed in and whacked in a easterly direction toward Bracket Pond. Followed the snomo road south to Rocky Pond, continued south and then began the whack east at the height of land to Lampier Hill East. Easy walk through open woods to recognized summit and reversed direction, heading west to Lampier Hill. I ran into a pond and extensive beaver flowage I had to skirt around. Relative easy hike in open woods to the summit. I spent quite some time looking for jar, but to no avail. The flats on the summit were wet and thick with blowdowns. From here I whacked westerly to Snomo trail and then followed snomo trail (north) back to gravel Road in the Thompson Forest and returned to the gate. |
