Comments
Comments: A bit of a different approach to this peak, following a woods road and flagged herd path to near Max Israel Shelter, then an out and back to the summit of Lovewell. This is a fine route, with a lovely wooded ridge walk across the bump north of the main peak. We only saw two other folks all day who were through-hiking. There are still good views from the near summit ledges, with snow-capped Washington, Franconia Ridge and Moosilauke clearly visible today.
