Comments
Comments: Walked a short distance past the gate then headed into the woods towards the logged areas. After a clearing saw a red dot/blaze on a tree just to our right. Thought this might be the red dot trail but lost it again almost immediately. Continued uphill until we came upon an old woods road leading towards the summit. Moderate to steep much of the way and did have one or two red blazed trees (?). The road disappeared as the terrain leveled a bit before heading very steeply up. Ledges and moss covered rock but fairly open woods and lots of trees to grab hold of in the steeper parts. Emerged at a more level area where we spotted some red blazed trees so headed in that direction and soon found ourselves on the red dot trail to the summit. Summit is recognized once again (thanks, Gordo and Reuben!). Signed in and followed the red dot trail back down the mountain all the way to the WMNF boundary where it disappears once again. Headed towards the woods road we had taken up and followed that until we could see the parking lot below us. Headed straight for it. Might be worth following the WMNF boundary line from the Bennett Street trail to where the red dot starts.
