Comments
Comments: Unnamed 2345' hill between Bronson Hill and Cole Hill:
Follow the 4WD part of Dyke road for maybe a half mile, come to a small roundabout partially cleared view area on your right. Look to your left, and will see silver colored metal gate for sno-mo trail, follow sign for 'Overlook Loop'.
This sno-mo trail is grassy and almost completely clear of debris. All the grass is lying down right now, so there is no tick-carwash action in play. There's a little mud here and there, easily avoidable.
In places, the trail is steep enough to garner an AMC 'moderate' rating, and this grassy steepness, is part of the appeal of the landscape. First lookout has a nice view of Lafayette and back of Cannon, the final 'Overlook' view is not quite as grand, but still pretty nice.
The sno-mo trail ends at the Overlook view, but moose herd paths have clearly been used to for the final tenth to the summit. I found some red flagging up there, which was helpful in re-locating the herd path on the return.
I recognized the summit, I've been here before, came up the other side from the Cooley-Jerico trail system. You can easily connect to the Blue trail of that system by following an obvious cut back down that side of the hill. You have to really like moose to go that way though, there's a 'cairn' every couple feet!
