Great hike up to Cannon. Still significant snow from previous days weather (and snow over the weekend). There was light dusting of snow at the base and I put on snowshoes at 2800' - primarily for traction. Might have been able to do it with microspikes, but enough snow to justify the snowshoes. Saw nobody else seen hiking up to Cannon, but did see two fresh sets of bear prints. Encountered a bunch of skiers up at Cannon. Beautiful day, but still winter up top. |
