Comments: Check this area out this morning, weather was still good. Warm, but not hot.

There is a (modified?) blow down at junction of Cabin and Big Rock, but easy to get around on both sides without stepping off trail. Big Rock Cave trail below 1400' has a few good mud spots, with functioning and not functioning water bars. Some spots just look like perk. Moved one smallish dead pine from across the trail, could see light herd path starting to form around it (couldn't duck under or step over). Dries out above 1400' the foot bed is great, well worn and free of debris. Making it past the wilderness sign, the trail is a little more wet, with some traces of snow still showing on the sides from Saturday's snow. I found it interesting that there were still blazes on the trees past the wilderness boundary, but none were fresh. Roots on trail heading down to caves were slick, just use caution. The caves were magnificent, absolutely gorgeous. There was evidence of camp fires near them, but otherwise no other signs of activity. I could hear Whitten Brook roaring below, but skipped the visit.

I only ever saw one person on the lower .3 of trail from the road, and never saw anyone else. Great day.
