Comments
Comments: Lower Ammo Trail combo bare ground and some m-rail. After Gem Pool the rail started and generaly supported us. Take care to stay on center. We used spikes from Gem Pool to the hut. The rest of the day was bareboots. One sizable snowfield about a half mile past the hut. Ran into more snow and rotting rail below treeline on Jewell. It was somewhat of a pain but doable in bare boots. Thanks to an e-mail from Pepper and me we left the snowshoes at home. Great day on the ridge. Temps in the 50's and no wind. All peaks in the clear all day.
