Hiked up Ridge Trail and down Gorge Brook. Postholed all the way up Ridge Trail, cursing the fact that we left our snowshoes in the car. Some minor blowdowns on Ridge, and the trail could use some brushing given the 5+ feet of snowpack. Once we reached the junction with Beaver Brook trail, the trail was packed enough to avoid postholing and microspikes were fine. The summit was mostly bare of snow, and Gorge Brook was easily manageable with microspikes - some slushy patches and some ice higher up, but the trail was basically bare by the bottom. |
