Comments
Comments: Excellent line today, with open/easy woods. Took AT to Trapper John Shelter. Just prior to shelter there is an old trail that crosses the shelter spur trail. Followed this old trail, southerly, towards a HOL SE of the peak. (I wonder if this was former AT route? There were faded and old DOC orange/black blazes on trees.) At HOL, hiked westerly up the east ridge of the peak. From this east side it was easy to navigate around the steeper cliff bands. Nice granite post marking the AT corridor on the summit.

Dropped off as I climbed, and near the HOL, contoured around E'ly, through easy woods, back to the AT. Took this up to Holt's Ledge. There were four turkey vultures soaring today. Returned to car via AT.
