Comments
Comments: After being unable to figure out where prior hikers had parked, we went with Plan B which was to hike up from Route 142. Located a faint old woods road just past our car and started towards the summit. We were able to follow woods roads almost 1/2 way up to a point where the road turned perpendicular to our heading. We started bushwhacking through fairly clear woods. Only real issue was the dusting of snow on the ground which made for some slippery spots especially as the terrain steepened. Eventually the grade leveled off for a bit, then a dip into a shallow col and the final climb up to the recognized highpoint, a tree with several yellow blazes and a board which may once have been a sign. We hung a jar then headed back down pretty much the way we came up. Fun hike although chilly and wet and then, of course, the snow squall at the summit!
