 | Comments: |
The trail was in great condition for spring hiking. We switched to micro spikes after about one half mile. Used them for the rest of the hike, until the final half mile. Hard packed snow/ice with very little post holing. Firm footing. Spikes were fine for the ascent to the North peak, but a bit treacherous for the descent from the south peak. Crampons would have given better traction on the descent. Easy to lose the trail between the two peaks. Snow shoes were not needed. |
