| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Zealand Road open, I parked at the trailhead. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Snow/Ice - Small Patches, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Standing/Running Water on Trail |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Water at the first crossing is a bit deep and running fast...might be difficult for small dogs. Had Max not been on a harness and a leash, he would have been swept away. Larger dogs shouldn't have any problems. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Two blowdowns between second water crossing and summit. One can step over both easily enough. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
See water crossing notes. |
|
| Bugs: |
Summit was buzzing with horse flies. A few black flies were out, but DEET kept them away. |

| Comments: |
Great day out. Beautiful weather. Unstable monorail starts just after second crossing and continues to summit. Might want the snowshoes and/or light tractionMoose tracks in the mud at the summit. Fun time on the trail. |
