The path to the summit is to the right of the wide woods road. It starts climbing almost right away, varying from easy to moderate to steep. At a fork where a path heads straight, we turned left following the wider more well-worn trail. More climbing then a sharp left turn away from the summit. Soon we came to a narrower trail to our right which is marked with dark blue signs/arrows. We followed this trail up to some ledges and a cairn and some awesome views. The well-worn trail to the summit continues past the ledges and climbs up to the recognized high point (Thanks, Fran M). More great views. The trail continues to the south but we decided to head back the way we came and walk the lower ledges. There was a faint path for awhile but we soon had to bushwhack down a short ways to pick up the trail. It keeps on going along the ridgeline but since we didn't know how far, we turned back and returned to the trail that had brought us up here. Fun hike, awesome views, great hiking weather! |
