Comments
Comments: Carried snowshoes and glad I had them because close to the ridge there is at least 3-4' of snow - if it softened up I would have been happy to have them and they don't weigh much anyway. Very solid snow and monorail but the last 800 vertical feet on Gorge Brook was very postholed. Ski tracks evident but postholed conditions down the Carriage Rd and Snapper looked very un-fun for skiing, plus, the trails are growing in too much. I didn't see ski tracks down the Carriage Rd after the left-hand turn onto Snapper.

Started out misting lightly, with decent visibility. Could see the lodge from the outlooks near treeline. Once I got to treeline, the full force of the wind was crazy. The precip became freezing rain - I was covered in a thin ice layer. Glad I had full goretex. It was full-on hurricane conditions although next cairns were visible. Very treacherous if unprepared. Very exciting morning.
