Comments
Comments: Walked about 1 mile up Cedar Brook Road to a height of land. Saw the trace of an old woods road just above us so started our bushwhack here. Followed the old road until it appeared to be taking us away from the summit. Cut into the woods crossing a fairly flat area. Woods were nice and open. Gradual uphill to another forest road which was heading straight for the summit. Hit a T-junction so headed into the woods again. Soon walking a a bed of thick pine needles through a fairly open pine forest heading moderately uphill. At the height of land, the new growth forest became somewhat thicker until we came to a clearing and an outcropping which appeared to be the right elevation but no sign of a jar. Continued further, slightly down then back up to another clearing at the end of which we found the recognized highpoint. The two bumps differ by about one foot! Signed in then headed back the way we came this time following a clear path through the pine forest and coming out at the T-junction. Headed down the woods road past where we first hit it and continued to a junction where another woods road headed more towards where we had started. It turned out to be the continuation of that road we had abandoned on the way up! Followed it down, seeing fresh moose prints and scat but no sign of the moose. Came out onto Cedar Brook Road and walked back to our car.
