Comments
Comments: It was a good day & beautiful weather, but also a day of very hard work. There is a ton of snow still, dont be deceived by the warm weather like I was. The snow is also soft, wet, and heavy. I used light traction the entire way but definitely wished I hadn’t left the snowshoes in the car...

Hancock Notch Trail: Stable monorail the whole way, well traveled in the past few days.

Cedar Brook Trail: same as above

Hancock Loop Trails. Stable monorail but less traveled up until the fork. I went to the south peak first. There was only 1 other set of boot tracks and the snow was extremely soft. It’s pretty steep so I was taking 2 steps forward and then backsliding a step most of the way up. Very tiring, even though it was only a half mile up. The traverse was also brutal without snowshoes. DELs trail report reflects it accurately, multiple feet of snow. At times I post holed to my waist! Took me almost 2 hours to do the south peak and traverse. From the north peak things are pretty good. It’s still not packed out but definitely a few more people have traveled this trail.

DEL was coming off the trail as I got started, ended up very jealous of his snow shoes.
