Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Minimal crossings at this point, warmer weather and rains may make some small streams in the future.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few blowdowns crossing the trail, mostly duck-unders.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one husky on the trail, seemed to have gotten along fine.
Bugs: Minimal, but they're coming.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Saw a shirt hanging on a tree about half a mile from the parking lot.
Comments: Trail starts out bare until about 800 feet up, where micros are recommended. Minimal snow til roughly 1,500 feet, where it turns into a rototilled mess, snowshoes are recommended. The Spring thaw, and bare-booters, have made some sketchy parts of the trail more treacherous than normal, especially when crossing snow ledges over steep sides of the mountain. The final ascent to the peak is mostly slush now. Views were outstanding today, and the temperature at the peak was mild with low winds. Excellent day to be out.
