Comments
Comments: Started our day by heading up Mack Ridge trail to the summit of Mack. Trail was snow free until we reached about 1800 feet, then it was increasingly consistent (up to 3-4"). Trees were heavy past the first big viewpoint, and melting in the rising temps - we were grateful to have our rain jackets. Junction to head up to Mack on the red trail was mucky in spots, but still had consistent snow. Summit ledges were mostly clear. Heading over to Klem via the red loop trail the woods were also heavy, and melting. Summit trail, and trail between peaks was sloppy, but gradually improving closer to Round Pond junction. We looped the Orange and Red trails by the southern end of the pond for fun: the red trail was alright with avoidable patches of mud, the orange trail was worse with mucky ponds in the middle of the trail. The kind that eat boots and trail runners! The red Round Pond trail heading back to the camps from the south side of the pond was patchy with sloppy snow in the beginning, but greatly improved by the 1400 foot contour. We noticed that the trail was relocated, running above the original path.

Sun was out here and there, we only saw one other person "up close", and could see two others at the Woods Road/Piper-Round Pond Link on the other side of the pond.
