In Sugar Hill I took Lovers' Lane to Pecketts Road, turned right and after the turn, within a few yards was an old forest woods marked by two granite pillars. I followed this forest road to an old water tank and the collapsed pumping station . Continued along the road which follows the ridge to the summit. The footpath was well worn and marked with white and red tape all the way to the summit, 1.5 miles. Recognized summit difficult to find. Roamed around cut over until I found two beer bottles hanging from a tree, which I assumed was the summit, no jar. I built a caron with a bottle in the middle. Beautiful hike and thanks to those who marked the trail. Some sections difficult to follow with blowdowns. Thanks to Reuben for his trail finding ability. |
